Manual Data Input

Manual data input occurs when a computer user is required to input data into the computer using some input device. The data may be presented on paper based input forms or some other paper format. The user must take care to ensure the data is input correctly and take steps to ensure there are no errors.

In manual data input the users can do the following to ensure data entry is accurate

• Double entry, use two users to input the same data, or input the data twice. Where the data is different will indicate an potential error;
• Form Design : Layout the input screen so that it is easy to visually see if any errors have been made;
